Academic year 2024/2025
You are cordially invited to read the Rector's Order No. 91 dated 20.05.2024 on the division of the academic year 2024/2025.
Winter semester
The first semester (winter) lasts from 1 October 2024 to 2 March 2025.
Ceremonial inauguration of the academic year (on): 2 October 2025;
Faculty inauguration of the academic year (till): 1 October 2025.
Teaching classes start on 3 October 2025 and continue until 2 March 2025;
Days off from teaching:
- 31 October 2024 - Rector's Day (full-time and part-time studies),
- 2 November 2024 - Rector's Day (full-time and part-time studies),
- from 23 December 2024 to 6 January 2025 - winter holiday break,
- from 17 to 23 February 2025 - inter-semester break.
Winter examination session: from 6 to 15 February 2025.
Winter retake examination session: from 24 February to 2 March 2025.
Electronic records after the winter session will be automatically closed by the USOS system on 2 March 2025 at 23:59.
Summer semester
The second (summer) semester runs from 3 March to 30 September 2025.
Teaching classes start on 3 March and continue until 15 June 2025;
Days off from teaching:
- from 16 to 22 April 2025 - Spring holiday break,
- 2 May 2025. - Rector's Day (full-time and part-time studies),
- one Friday in May - Rector's Day on the occasion of Students' Days (full-time and part-time studies),
- 26 May 2025 - Rector's Day on the occasion of the University of Łódź Feast (full-time and part-time studies),
Summer examination session: from 16 June to 8 July 2025.
Break for summer holidays, study camps, internships, etc.: from 9 July to 30 September 2025.
Academic year 2025/2026

Ceremonial inauguration of the academic year (on): 1 October 2026;
Faculty inauguration of the academic year (till): 1 October 2026.
Teaching classes start on 2 October 2026 and continue until 25 January 2026;
Days off from teaching:
- 31 October 2025 - Rector's Day (full-time and part-time studies),
- 2 November 2025 - Rector's Day (full-time and part-time studies),
- from 23 December 2025 to 6 January 2026 - winter holiday break,
- from 9 to 15 February 2026 - inter-semester break.
Winter examination session: from 26 January to 8 February 2026.
Winter retake examination session: from 16 February to 22 February 2026.

The second (summer) semester runs from 23 February to 30 September 2026.
Teaching classes start on 23 February and continue until 14 June 2026;

- 2 May 2026. - Rector's Day (full-time and part-time studies),
- one Friday in May - Rector's Day on the occasion of Students' Days (full-time and part-time studies),
- 25 May 2026 - Rector's Day on the occasion of the University of Łódź Feast (full-time and part-time studies),
- 6 June 2026 - Rector's Day (full-time and part-time studies).
Summer examination session: from 15 June to 5 July 2026.
Break for summer holidays, study camps, internships, etc.: from 6 July to 30 September 2026.
