Attorney at law

Team of Attorneys-at-law of the UL

The scope of tasks and duties of the attorney at law includes:

1. Providing legal assistance to the University in accordance with The Law on attorney-at-law, in particular:

a) Representing the University in proceedings before common, administrative and arbitration courts of all instances and during negotiations in pursuing claims at the pre-litigation stage,

b)Drafting legal opinions and providing ongoing legal counseling,

c)Reviewing internal legislation of the University, especially resolutions of the Senate of the University of Lodz, orders of the Rector and Quaestor and statutes of the University,

d)Reviewing drafts of contracts and agreements,

e)Representing University in appeal proceedings before National Appeals Chamber in matters concerning public contracts.

2. Cooperation with Supervisors of the organizational units of the University in creating internal regulations and drawing up contracts that are unusual or legally complex in order to properly secure the interests of the University.

3. Preparing and filing lawsuits

4. Conducting cases before administrative courts

5. Conducting activities aimed at enforcement of due payments

6. Billing of payments made by debtors or court bailiffs

7. Preparing requests of payment to the Finance Department

8. Maintaining and archiving files of court, enforcement cases and maintaining the repertory of these files

9. Reporting reasonable suspicion of criminal offence committed by students, employees or others
