Employee of the Department of Applied and Cultural Linguistics. Conducting classes in Polish philology, speech therapy and journalism. Scientific research in the field of linguistics.


Bio


A graduate of

Polish philology at the University of Lodz. She obtained her doctoral degree in

1999 on the basis of the dissertation "Expressiveness of headlines"

in "Gazeta Wyborcza". The topic of my habilitation thesis, published

in 2012, was the Strategies of journalists and their interlocutors in public

media discourse. As an academic teacher, he works at the Faculty of Philology,

conducting classes in Polish philology, speech therapy and journalism.


Interests


My scientific

interests focus on issues such as: scientific terminology, in particular

biological terminology, functions of language, linguistic comedy, specificity

and functioning of proper names, media communication, genres of public debate,

rules of public discourse, argumentation techniques, shaping communicative

competence, psycholinguistic conditions of teaching a second language.

Additionally, I am interested in cognitive-behavioral psychology and

neuropsychology.


Achievements


Several dozen

publications, including compact items, articles in magazines and collective

works, e.g. Headlines in "Gazeta Wyborcza" (expressive vocabulary,

phrasematics, metaphors), Strategies of journalists and their interlocutors in

public media discourse, Proper names in a non-onomastic function, New formula

of the television debate, Nominating and naming strategies in political media

discourse, Countertextuality and counterdiscursivity as a type of intertextual

relationship. Membership in scientific societies, participation in editorial

boards of scientific journals, reviewing publications, including achievements

in promotion procedures, promoting doctors. Cooperation with domestic and

foreign research centers.
