Scientific research, publishing and popularizing knowledge on environmental and molecular aspects of human health.
Scientist, molecular biologist and toxicologist working on topics related to the genetic, epigenetic and environmental aspects of civilization diseases and public health. My research interests also include cytoprotection regulated by NRF2 transcription factor, selenium and selenoproteins, epigenetic control of gene expression, circadian rhythm, clock genes, exposure to artificial light. In my research in the field of molecular epidemiology, in addition to gaining knowledge about the mechanisms of civilization diseases, mainly cancer, I also focus on estimating the risk of disease, as well as diagnosis, prognosis or treatment. My research involves evaluating the effect of environmental factors on molecular biomarkers of early effect: mRNA expression, DNA methylation, DNA polymorphism, telomere length, etc.
