I work in the Department of Logic and Methodology of Science at the Faculty of Philosophy and History, University of Łódź. Main research areas are:
- ontology - in particular formal ontology (including topological ontology); problems: Wittgensteinian ontology of logical atomism, various forms of atomism and substantialism, category theories, property theories;
- logic - theories of judgment in the logical sense, modal and temporal logics in ontological versions;
- philosophical anthropology - i.e. the main philosophical field according to Socrates, Kant, Heidegger and many others; here I focus on the essential and existential view of the human being, the problem of the will, the structure of cognition (knowing), some important ethical problems, and finally the ontic foundations of philosophical anthropology.
A passionate part of the academic work is working with students of various faculties of all three degrees and students of the ERASMUS programme. I teach classes in:
- ontology,
- philosophy (for PhD students),
- cognitive science,
- analytical philosophy,
- philosophical anthropology,
- logic.
In addition, I participate in the creation of the so-called ‘scientific life’ by co-organising:
- conferences (Non-Classical Logics. Theory and Applications, World Logic Day, Ontological Workshops),
- editing of multi-author monographs.
I am currently pursuing (as of 2022) two projects:
- Atom. Substance. System. Research in topological ontology (under NCN),
- the scientific conference Non-Classical Logics. Theory and Applications (within the framework of the ministerial programme ‘Excellent Science’).
