I graduated 'Environmental Protection' and 'Stationary Doctoral Studies in Ecology and Environmental Protection' at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, University of Lodz. My research on the diversity of freshwater benthic macroinvertebrates I have conducted in the Department of Ecology and Vertebrate Zoology.
I am interested in the biology and ecology of benthic macroinvertebrates of flowing water ecosystems, paying special attention to some of the world's most plastic insects - dipterans from Chironomidae family.
In my free time I enjoy reading about the turbulent history of the city of Lodz and spending time outdoors with my dog.
- Participation in NCN grant of Dr. Małgorzata Dukowska entitled: “Assessment of bioaccumulation of selected metals in benthic invertebrates (Chironomidae) with various adaptations to the environment”.
- Co-authorship in many A-list publications of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (more on ORCID profile: orcid.org/0000-0001-9096-8522)
- Completion of the course on determination of invertebrates entitled. “Aquatic insects of Poland useful for monitoring water quality” conducted at the Faculty of Biosciences by Professor John C. Morse of Clemson University
My interests focus on the biology and ecology of riverine benthic macroinvertebrate assemblages, with particular emphasis on the fly Chironomidae.
I have also participated in numerous studies on the impact of hydraulic developments on changes in invertebrate populations, fish and their diets.
