graduated geographical studies and postgraduate study in the field of GIS science. He works as an assistant professor at the Department of Political, Historical Geography and Regional Studies at the University of Lodz. Chairman and vice-chairman of the Łódź Branch of Polish Geographical Society. In his work combines urban geography, settlement morphology, cultural heritage and cultural tourism. His main morphological and urban geographical interests are focused on the spatial transformations of the cities after WWII, especially form the territory of the former East Prussia and so called Recovered Territorries in Poland. In broader context it covers the area of Central-Eastern and Western Europe. His urban morphological research, conducted mainly from the historico-geographical perspective based on Conzenian tradition, concerns both: morphogenesis of the Middle Age settlement and later spatial transformations. His second area of interest covers the study of cultural heritage which are mainly focused on tourism function and perception of architectura militaris in Poland and morphology of historical plans of urban and rural settlement. In his scientific work he uses mostly historico-geographical approach based on present and archival plans and maps analyses, conducted in a traditional way and with using of GIS methods.
