I correct texts written by the staff of Ek-Soc for publication in English-language journals, and I correct texts submitted to several of the faculty’s own journals.

I do not do translations. My Polish is zbyt słaby to do translations. Sorry. If I write an email to you in Polish, it was written using DeepL or Google.

As I read so much for my job, I don’t read very much in my private life, but I do enjoy books – audiobooks and radio dramatisations. Detective thrillers are what I listen to (and read, occasionally) most often. They may not be great literature, but I’m looking for entertainment, not philosophy.

I often do my proofreading in cafés in Lodz. My 3 favourites are:

• Przędza (Piotrkowska 107) - great coffee, great service, comfortable chairs
• The Brick (Piotrkowska 63) - great coffee, great service, not comfortable chairs!
• Szykier (Północna 1/3) - great coffee, great service, not bad chairs, good music (usually).

If the weather is nice enough, I like going for walks to one of those cafés while listening to an audiobook. The perfect way to spend an hour or two.
