- Avian immunogenetics: polymorphism and evolution of genes coding for key immune molecules and receptors (MHC, TLR) - common tern, black-headed gull, coot, white-tailed eagle, passerine birds
- Evolution of physiological, ecological, and life history traits in birds - inter-specific comparative studies
- Genetic and ecological mechanisms of urbanization processes in birds - coot
- Ecology of avian sociality and migration
