The University Of Lodz Press Breakfasts

Press Breakfasts of the University of Lodz is a project aiming at establishing and maintaining relations between the media and the university, which was initiated in December 2022. During regular meetings of scientists, doctoral students and students with journalists, the expert knowledge of researchers from the University of Lodz is presented and topics from the life of the university are discussed. 

The idea of the series assumes regular meetings (usually once a month) with journalists and presenting interesting topics from the life of the university to them during thematic briefings. However, it is primarily a time for conversation, spontaneous exchange of opinions and sharing ideas, as well as networking.   

Experts from the University of Lodz are invited to each meeting during which they speak to journalists. These regular meetings promote the popularisation of research projects that are carried out at the university and are a part of the trend of disseminating science. The University of Lodz Press Breakfasts take place in a relaxed atmosphere in one of the restaurants in Lodz, the space of which allows many journalists to talk freely with the university experts.

During Press Breakfasts, scientists get to know journalists personally, which makes them more willing to cooperate with them in the future and the group of the University of Lodz researchers open to the media is constantly growing. In turn, journalists interested in the expert knowledge of scientists use the contacts they have established with them for subsequent publications.

We actively prepare content related to the current activities of the University of Lodz for local and national media in cooperation with the university scientists and administration. We are in touch with journalists and respond to inquiries from local and national editorial offices, in a written form or audio/video comments.

Members of the University of Lodz Press Office organise press briefings, prepare press announcements and press events for local and national media, including University of Lodz Press Breakfasts. We also administer content on the university's home page.
