Fundraising for the restoration of the buildings of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv

Russian shells destroyed several historic buildings of the Kyiv University – the (Red) main building, the (Yellow) building of the Institute of Philology – both from the mid-19th century. The premises of the library and the Faculty of Chemistry were also significantly damaged. The university stresses that it is largely coping on its own but will not be able to rebuild fully by relying solely on Ukrainian state aid.

The university, which has not terminated its activities for a single day since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, began restoration work immediately after the missile strike. We cannot allow the educational process to be terminated or interrupted because our country is in need of well-educated professionals who are willing to defend our people, rebuild and build a state that will take a decent place among the European nations.

– reads the university's announcement.

Winter is coming. It will be an exceptionally hard time for the defending Ukraine, including the Kyiv University, and everyone who can is asked to support the campaign.
