At the University of Lodz, we believe that a good workplace is not only about employment conditions, but above all a sense of security, agency and support. That is why one of the key elements of the project "UniLodz – a Discrimination-Free Zone" is caring for the well-being of employees – both through educational activities and specific forms of individual support.
We hear about the difficulties experienced by people belonging to our community. We are aware that discrimination, mobbing or other forms of violence can be a source of long-term stress and loneliness. Launching specialist counselling – psychological and organisational-mediation – is our response to these needs.
We want everyone who finds themselves in a difficult situation to know that they can receive professional, confidential and friendly help.
This form of support is intended for people who have experienced discrimination, mobbing or other forms of violence at the university. It includes individual meetings with the coordinator, whose task is to:
assist in recognising the type of discrimination experienced – including determining whether the situation may constitute mobbing (the reporting person does not have to know this or be able to assess it on their own),
in the case of suspected mobbing – guide through the entire process: from explaining the reporting procedure, through assistance in collecting and preparing documentation, to possible support during the testimony,
accompany and ensure emotional support, especially in stressful situations, such as participation in committees,
assist in coping with the psychological effects of violence – including isolation, anxiety, low mood – and support in rebuilding a sense of security.
To arrange a meeting, please send a message to: marta.nowacka@uni.lodz.pl
Individual consultations with psychologists, tailored to the personal needs and experiences of the person using the support, are aimed at:
discussing emotions and experiences related to discrimination,
better understanding of the mechanisms behind discriminatory behaviours,
learning strategies for coping with difficult situations and building mental resilience.
The aim of the support is to: improve mental well-being, reduce stress levels, strengthen self-esteem and support social integration.
To arrange a meeting, send a message to: agnieszka.jaros@now.uni.odz.pl or diana.muller.siekierska@now.uni.lodz.pl.
All meetings as part of the organisational and mediation, and psychological counselling are held in the building of the Support and Accessibility Centre of the University of Lodz.
