The staff of the Department of Contemporary Polish Language conduct teaching activities in the field of Polish philology, including the following subjects:
Knowledge of Contemporary Polish Language,
Polish Language Culture,
Linguistic Pragmatics,
Linguistic Axiology,
Contemporary Discourse Analysis,
Linguistic Editing of Academic Texts,
Nonverbal Communication,
Techniques of Social Influence,
Interpersonal Communication.
Additionally, they supervise bachelor's and master's seminars in the fields of Polish philology, speech therapy, as well as journalism and social communication.
The department offers two specializations for students of Polish philology:
At the undergraduate level: Public Communication,
At the graduate level: Internet Communication.
The staff of the Department of Contemporary Polish Language also regularly conduct courses on language correctness for students of modern languages and other faculties at the University of Łódź, including the Faculty of Economics and Sociology, the Faculty of Chemistry, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, and the Faculty of Physics and Applied Informatics.
The research interests of the department’s staff primarily concern contemporary Polish language. Studies are conducted within various linguistic frameworks, perspectives, and methodologies, including:
