Biodiversity Genomics Europe course at the University of Lodz!

On February 3-7, 2025, the University of Lodz hosted an intensive course entitled "BRIGHT - Biodiversity Research Integrating barcoding, Genomics and High-throughput Technologies". The organizers of this unique event were members of the Biodiversity Genomics Europe (BGE) project and the Polish Barcode of Life (PolBOL) team from our department.

This course allowed participants to gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of DNA barcoding, genomic methods and high-throughput sequencing technologies. Additionally, participants learned how to engage the community outside the scientific sphere in scientific research.

The course was attended by 24 in-person and 31 online participants representing various institutions from all over the country. As many as 19 instructors from various scientific units from Poland, Germany and the UK were involved in conducting the workshops.

It was an amazing week full of knowledge and inspiration!

We would like to thank the organizers, instructors and participants for creating such a unique event! We hope that the knowledge and skills acquired will contribute to the further development of biodiversity research.
