Leszek Karczewski – literary theorist and theater scholar, creative writing lecturer, museum professional, and cultural educator, as well as a composer and yogi. Assistant professor at the Institute of Contemporary Culture at the University of Łódź, deputy director for promotion and dissemination at the Muzeum Sztuki Lodz. From 2001 to 2008, he was a theater critic for “Gazeta Wyborcza” daily. Between 2008 and 2022, he served as the head of the Education Department at the Museum Sztuki Lodz, where he conceived and implemented numerous projects, including Kulturanek, which was awarded the Sybilla Prize by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2012. He curated various training programs and socio-artistic initiatives, such as Galeria Dżinsów, WIKIzeum, and ms³ Re:akcja, and co-authored the creativity handbook Książka do zobaczenia. From 2017 to 2019, he was a member of the Program Council of the National Institute for Museums and Public Collections (today NIM). As a composer, he creates music for video games. A devoted yogi, he has been a longtime teacher in the B.K.S. Iyengar yoga tradition. He has been honored with distinctions, including the Meritorious for Polish Culture honorary badge.
