Faculty of Geographical Sciences
The Vice-Dean for Development and Promotion of the Discipline of Socio-Economic Geography and Spatial Management at the Faculty of Geographical Sciences, University of Łódź, is responsible for coordinating the research activities of the faculty members in this discipline. Their role involves monitoring research conducted by the academic staff, particularly ensuring the alignment of research activities with institutional objectives and the discipline's guidelines, in order to guarantee coherence, efficiency, and strategic focus in the research. The Vice-Dean's duties also include gathering, analyzing, and exchanging information regarding research activities, especially in the areas of publications and projects, in accordance with the criteria for evaluating the quality of scientific activity. This also involves monitoring and documenting the impact of research on the socio-economic environment. The Vice-Dean initiates and oversees the preparation of descriptions detailing the impact of research on society and the economy, while also supporting researchers in collecting evidence of this impact. Another key responsibility of the Vice-Dean is developing and implementing guidelines for internal communication among academic staff, including rules for information exchange, communication channels, and methods for monitoring and optimizing communication efficiency. The Vice-Dean also undertakes initiatives to promote research in socio-economic geography and spatial management both within the academic community and beyond, ensuring increased visibility and the broader societal and economic impact of the research.
