Pollinators - we have completed another task carried out as part of the Biodiversity Genomics Europe project

We have just completed another task carried out as part of the project "BGE: Biodiversity Genomics Europe". Our task was to provide, using Malaise traps, genetic data on pollinators for a better understanding of the role of urban gardens and agrocenoses in various regions of Europe. To this end, throughout the summer, in cooperation with, among others, the Faculty of Biology of the University of Wrocław, the University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wrocław, the University of Warmia and Mazury and a large group of volunteers - citizen scientists, we have been conducting pollinator catches in nine locations throughout the country, from Lubusz and Lower Silesia, through Pomerania, Warmia, Central Poland and Siedlce, to Lublin and the Bieszczady Foothills.

The end of our work is the transfer of 90 samples for laboratory analysis. Additionally, we have prepared and added to our set 10 samples collected by colleagues from Ukraine. The samples have been prepared, packed and are currently on the road. A laboratory to which they will be sent far away, in the Canary Islands.
